Fetching captions…
30 free transcripts a day without an account — no ads, ever. A free account raises it to 100, Pro to 500.
How it works
1
Paste a link to any YouTube video, Short or live replay that has captions — auto-generated ones count.
2
Pick a caption language. Auto-generated captions can be auto-translated by YouTube, so most videos work in your language.
3
Read or copy the cleaned transcript, switch to timestamps, or download it as a TXT, SRT or VTT file.
Too long to read too?
One click sends the video to the summarizer — TL;DR, key points or a detailed breakdown, in your language.
Frequently asked questions
Any language the video actually has captions in, plus every language YouTube can auto-translate auto-generated captions into — which covers most of the 100+ languages in the selector. If the language you pick is not available for that video, you get the English track instead and the result says so.
Yes — most YouTube videos only have auto-generated captions, and those are fetched the same way. Raw auto-captions repeat every line in rolling two-line windows; the generator collapses those duplicates so the transcript reads like normal text.
Right now the video needs at least auto-generated captions. Speech-to-text transcription for caption-less videos is coming soon. In the meantime: very fresh uploads usually get auto-captions from YouTube within a few hours, so trying again later often works.
TXT is the plain transcript — best for reading, quoting and pasting into documents. SRT and VTT are subtitle files that keep the exact start and end time of every line: SRT is the classic format almost every video editor accepts, VTT is the web standard used by HTML5 players. Same content, different wrapper.
Yes — the Timestamped tab puts a time marker on every line so you can jump to the moment something was said, and the SRT/VTT downloads keep exact start and end times for use in editors and players.
